Director, Customer Support

We are looking for an experienced and determined professional to take over the Customer Service Director’s position. You will be responsible for delivering customer projects in Europe region and you will lead the customer service-team (3 technical subordinates). We are seeking a professional who has demonstrated knowledge in project management in database/big data based software business. This position is right for a person who is willing and capable to work as part of a dynamic and international, high growing company. The location will be in Espoo, Finland.


Main responsibility areas

  • Be responsible of all aspects of project management: holding accountability for project delivery to cost, time and quality parameters
  • Work with clients to assure the value delivered from the business transformations your projects enable and that clients achieve the sought benefits
  • Support sales and pre-sales activity
  • Use your expertise and experience to contribute to the development of products and internal processes
  • Lead the customer support-team and co-operate with R&D team

We expect from you

  • Sound project management skills with database based software projects with multiple clients and cocurrential processes (min 5 year experience, background with genome research, healthcare or life sciences is an advantage but not requirement)
  • A track record of successful project delivery, package implementations and/or custom builds – ideally including experience with big data based solutions
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Technical knowledge and knowhow is an advantage (Linux, DB2 or other relation databases e.g. Oracle, MS Azure, IBM Softlayer)
  • Excellent spoken and written Finnish and English skills
  • Ability to travel approx. 2-5 days/month, mostly in Europe
