Welcome to the Assessment
Psychological Assessment
The purpose of a psychological assessment is to evaluate how well your individual characteristics align with the requirements of the role, work environment, and organizational culture. Typical assessment areas include your collaboration, thinking, and leadership styles, working style, learning and problem-solving capabilities, as well as work-related motivational factors.
The assessment process consists of timed aptitude tests, untimed questionnaire-based assessments, and, where applicable, work simulation exercises. However, the most important part of the assessment is the interview. During the interview, we discuss your professional background, motivation, work and interaction style, and future career aspirations. The results of the assessment exercises are also reviewed together as part of the discussion.
In Finland, psychological assessments used in employment contexts are regulated by the Act on the Protection of Privacy in Working Life. The purpose of the legislation is to improve the quality of recruitment decisions and safeguard applicants’ rights during selection processes. The law requires assessors to be qualified professionals, assessment methods to be reliable, and assessment results to be accurate. Participation in a psychological assessment is always voluntary.
We are committed to conducting assessments responsibly and ethically. Read more about our commitments to responsible assessment practices here.

The Assessment Process
One of our assessment psychologists will contact you to arrange an assessment meeting, either in person or via Microsoft Teams.
During the same contact, you will receive instructions for the pre-assessment exercises, which can be completed online at a time that is convenient for you. You should reserve approximately 2 to 3 hours in total for these exercises, although they do not need to be completed in one sitting.
The assessment exercises are divided into smaller sections, and the estimated completion time for each section (typically 10 to 30 minutes) is indicated alongside the exercise. We recommend completing each individual section in a single sitting.
Each exercise includes clear examples and practice opportunities. For some exercises, the use of note-taking materials is permitted, so it may be helpful to have them available in advance.
We recommend choosing a quiet environment where you can complete the exercises without interruptions. The exercises are best completed when you feel alert and able to concentrate fully.
If you prefer, the exercises can also be completed at our office. All exercises should be completed before the assessment meeting, as the results will be discussed during the meeting.
The assessment meeting consists of an interview and a review of the results of the pre-assessment exercises.
Feedback on Your Assessment Results
We want the assessment process to be a positive and valuable experience that also provides an opportunity to enhance your self-awareness. During the assessment meeting, we will discuss your results, and you will later receive a copy of your written assessment report. If there is anything you would like to discuss further regarding the assessment, please feel free to contact the consultant who conducted your assessment. At the end of the process, we will ask for your feedback on the assessment experience to help us continuously improve our services.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have previously participated in full-day assessment centres. Is HRS’s assessment equally comprehensive?
Yes, it is. Our assessment process includes the same range of assessment methods as traditional full-day assessments, with the added flexibility of allowing you to complete the exercises independently online at a time and place that suits you. The assessment meeting itself is an interactive discussion that includes a psychologist interview and a review of the assessment results. The meeting typically lasts around two hours, making it easier to schedule, even at short notice.
Do I need to bring anything to the assessment meeting?
Unless you have specifically been asked to bring documents such as employment or educational certificates, there is no need to bring any materials with you. However, if there are documents you would like to discuss or share during the meeting, you are welcome to bring them. Otherwise, simply come as yourself.
What is the value of the assessment exercises? Can a single test provide a comprehensive picture of me?
No single test can provide a comprehensive assessment of an individual. This is why our assessment process combines several methods, including questionnaires, aptitude exercises, interviews, and, where relevant, simulations and case exercises. This multi-method approach increases the reliability and validity of the assessment by reducing the impact of any individual method’s limitations.
Will I receive a written assessment report?
Yes. You will always receive the same written assessment report that is provided to our client.
What might the psychologist discover about me? Is there any risk of being assessed for mental health issues?
No. The assessment focuses on your professional background, work motivation, capabilities, strengths, and development areas. It is not intended to assess your health status or fitness for work, nor is it a clinical psychological evaluation.
What happens to my information after the assessment?
All information is treated as strictly confidential and may not be disclosed to third parties without the appropriate consent. All electronically transmitted documents are password protected. We retain assessment data for two years, after which it is securely and appropriately destroyed.

HRS Assessments
Our assessments provide a comprehensive understanding of a candidate’s working style and help predict success in a role and organizational environment.

Professional Assessment
The best professionals are identified when the key success factors of the role are clearly understood and a candidate’s strengths and development areas can be evaluated against those requirements.
