Essi Karvonen

I vividly remember the moment when the spark for occupational psychology was ignited for me. Ever since then I have wondered about leadership, personnel appointments, and the goal-oriented activities of working communities, making these the objects of my study. I believe that a healthy working life is the key to a fair society. I have experience with the duties of an occupational psychologist from a variety of viewpoints, namely those of occupational health care, career guidance, occupational rehabilitation, and working community development. While working from these points of view, I have met people in the different stages of the career span. Nothing human is foreign to me as a psychologist.

At HRS Advisors, long-term goals are met with a swift and productive approach to work, which is also my characteristic way of doing work.

Together with my customers, I enjoy getting to seek solutions to challenges that often seem very difficult and complex. My approach to work flourishes in rapid customer processes, but I also enjoy getting to pause in a spirit of development to consider the diversity of working life phenomena together. The best thing about being a consultant is building up mutual understanding and insight together with the customer.

My home is on the shore of River Aurajoki. This is where I get to enjoy the unique culture and ambience of Turku. In my free time, I enjoy show jumping with my horse, Lana, by practising or roaming around the woods. I am also inspired by conversations, time spent with friends, and the soothing effect of yoga. Soul, funk, and rap music bring my life rhythm and energy.
